Hendrick's is an iconoclastic super premium gin, produced in small batches and distilled in Ayrshire, Scotland. The harmonious combination of the Bennett and Carter-Head stills creates an unusually smooth gin like no other that has the required character and balance of subtle flavors. The Bennett still steeps its botanicals overnight before distillation, while the Carter-Head still has its botanicals in a basket up in the still neck, steaming them gently. It features the likes of juniper, cubeb berries, elderflower, chamomile, angelica, lemon peel, orange peel, coriander, yarrow, and orris alongside an infusion of cucumber and rose petal.
Tasting Notes: Big, creamy aromas right off the bat, with a little zesty citrus, juniper, rose petal jelly, and cucumber. Astoundingly fresh notes of cucumber with juniper, oak, a touch more citrus, and vanilla. Creamy and savory. A long, refreshing, floral finish.
Liquor CANNOT be shipped to the following states: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Mississippi, Texas & Utah.
Hendrick's Gin FAQs
What is Hendrick's Gin? Hendrick's is a Scottish gin made by William Grant and Sons at the Girvan Distillery in Ayrshire, Scotland. It was launched in 1999 and quickly became known for its distinctive flavor profile and unusual dark apothecary-style bottle. It is one of the most widely recognized premium gins in the world.
How is Hendrick's Gin made? Hendrick's is made using a combination of two different stills: a Bennett pot still and a rare Carterhead still. The dual-distillation method creates a lighter, smoother spirit than most gins. After distillation, the gin is infused with two key botanicals: Bulgarian rose petals and Macedonian cucumber, which give it its signature character.
What does Hendrick's Gin taste like? Hendrick's has a floral and refreshing flavor with prominent notes of rose, cucumber, and a soft juniper backbone. It is lighter and less pine-forward than many classic London Dry gins, with a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and a delicate finish. It is distinctive and easy to enjoy.
What is the alcohol content of Hendrick's Gin? Hendrick's Gin is bottled at 44% ABV (88 proof), which gives it a bit more presence than the standard 40% while still remaining smooth.
How does Hendrick's differ from other premium gins? Most gins lead with juniper and citrus. Hendrick's stands apart with its rose and cucumber infusion, which creates a softer, more floral style. This makes it appealing to people who normally find gin too sharp. It is also produced in small batches of no more than 500 liters per run, keeping quality consistent.
Can I personalize a bottle of Hendrick's Gin? Yes. Personal Wine offers custom engraving and personalized labels on Hendrick's bottles, making it a fun and unique gift for gin lovers, garden party hosts, or anyone who appreciates something a little different.
Is Hendrick's Gin a good gift? Hendrick's is an excellent gift for anyone who enjoys cocktails or premium spirits. The unique dark bottle with its old-fashioned apothecary look makes it stand out, and a personalized label or engraving makes it even more memorable.
How should I serve Hendrick's Gin? The classic serve is a Hendrick's and tonic with ice and a slice of cucumber, which complements the gin's floral botanicals perfectly. It also works beautifully in a gin martini, a Tom Collins, or a gin and elderflower tonic. Garnish with rose petals or cucumber for a finishing touch.
Where does Personal Wine ship Hendrick's Gin? Personal Wine ships Hendrick's Gin to most states across the U.S. Liquor cannot be shipped to Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Mississippi, Texas, or Utah due to state regulations.
