Product Details

Looking to impress your friends and colleagues? Want a birth-year wine to open in 2023? Consider the Bollinger R.D 2002, a wine unlike any other. R.D stands for "Récemment Dégorgé" which translates to ‘recently disgorged’. In this instance, the wine has spent the past 15 years aging on the lees (expended yeast cells), building character and richness, while maintaining freshness. No other Champenois dare create a wine of greater intrigue. James Bond preferred this Champagne to any other, and you may as well.

From 71% Grand Cru and 29% Premier Cru vineyards, this delicate blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay will mesmerize you with its rapturous display of stewed fruit, honey, cocoa, and nutmeg on the nose, followed by a full-bodied expression on the palette, and a citrusy, mineral-laden finish. With only 3-4 grams of residual sugar per liter, this is a decidedly dry style of Champagne, earning the designation ‘Extra Brut’ on the label.

A powerful wine perfectly complemented to richly flavored dishes. Think: mushroom or truffle risotto, venison, or Swiss Gruyère.
