About Veuve Clicquot
Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 in Reims, France. The house built its modern reputation under Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, known as Madame Clicquot, who took over in 1805 after the death of her husband. She invented the riddling table, the process that removes sediment from Champagne and is still in use today. She also produced the first commercially sold rose Champagne in 1818.
The house is now owned by LVMH. Its flagship bottle, the Brut Yellow Label, is one of the most widely recognized Champagnes in the world. The bright yellow label, a deliberate design choice, is iconic enough that most people can identify it without reading the name.
The range runs from half bottles to magnums to double magnums. The Rose is consistently one of the most popular pink Champagnes globally. The Demi-Sec is sweeter and less common but well worth knowing for dessert pairings or guests who prefer a touch of sweetness.
