The 2022 Opus One is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot, and 1% each of Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The wine opens with lifted aromas of cassis, graphite, and cinnamon-dusted red berries, layered with the woody spice of freshly cut rose stems, soft rose petals, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is luxuriously creamy, showing a silkier, more velvety texture than the 2021 vintage. The berry fruit carries a touch of sweetness, balanced by firm, texturally refined tannins that give the wine structure and poise.

As it evolves in the glass, the wine reveals a bright, expressive character. Tightly grained tannins frame smoky, fragrant notes and a concentrated core of fruit.
