About Chateau des Ormeaux Chateau des Ormeaux is a small 3.6-hectare organically farmed estate in the commune of Néac, within Bordeaux's Lalande de Pomerol appellation, the neighboring AOC to legendary Pomerol. Winemaking is directed by vigneron Julien Richard with consulting from Michel Rolland, one of the most influential winemakers of the modern era. The wine is vinified traditionally and aged in a combination of mid-sized oak barrels, concrete tanks, and clay amphorae, a hybrid approach that preserves fruit purity while adding texture and complexity.
Why the 2020 vintage matters 2020 was a strong year on Bordeaux's Right Bank, producing concentrated, structured wines with excellent balance. Following a warm, dry summer, the harvest yielded ripe fruit with the acidity to age gracefully. Approachable now and built to evolve in the cellar.
